  • Responsibly Raised

    When buying meat, we work hard to partner with farmers and ranchers committed to doing things the right way, including raising animals humanely and without the use of antibiotics or added hormones.

  • Pasture-Raised Dairy

    We believe cows are at their best grazing outdoors, socializing on pasture and otherwise doing what cows do. That's why much of the shredded Monterey Jack cheese and sour cream we serve are made with milk from cows given daily access to pasture.

  • Local Produce

    From 2012-2016, we bought more than 90 million pounds of local produce (that is, within a 350-mile farm-to-restaurant journey), including avocados, onions, peppers, cilantro, lemons, and tomatoes.

  • Organic

    We buy organically grown ingredients, including a portion of the following: avocados, black beans, brown rice, cilantro, lemons, pinto beans, romaine lettuce, soybeans, white rice, and wheat flour.

  • No Added Colors*

    We have never added colorings to our food because we can’t imagine colors more beautiful than the reds of our chilies or the greens of our guacamole. (*May not apply to seasonal or test menu items at the Chipotle Next Kitchen location) 

  • No Added Flavors

    The flavors in our food come from the real, whole ingredients—not added artificial or natural flavorings.

  • No Preservatives*

    We buy fresh ingredients and prepare them by hand using classic cooking techniques, without any preservatives (*except for lemon and lime juices, which can be used as preservatives, though Chipotle uses them only for taste).

  • Non-GMO

    The way GMO crops are raised can have a significant negative impact on the environment, and we just don’t need them. We’re the first national restaurant brand to cook with only non-GMO ingredients.
